Henry Herford, winner of the Benson and Hedges Gold Award and the International American Music Competition, was born in Edinburgh. He studied English at Cambridge and then went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he was awarded the Curtis Gold Medal. As well as operatic appearances at Glyndebourne, Covent Garden and Scottish Opera, Henry is a concert artist. He also specialises in modern works - first performances include works by Muldowney, Stephen Oliver and Nigel Osbome. He has recently completed a recording of Ives songs and a disc of American music for New World records.
