  Francesc Garrigosa was born in Barcelona and began his music studies at the age of six. At the age of ten he joined the Escolania de Montserrat, where he studied piano, french horn and singing. After studying singing with Xavier Torra in Barcelona, he went to the Guildhall School of Music in London, where he studied with Rudolf Pernay and did the opera course. He has sung at the Purcell Room, St John's Smith Square, Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona, Kammermusiksaal der Philharmonie (Berlin), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and recently at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, Madrid (singing the title role in the contemporary opera Timon of Athens). His recordings include the Cancioneras de Palacio, Medinacelli and Colombini with Hespèrion XX which was awarded the Diapason d'Or; and the opera Una Cosa Rara by Vicent Martin y Soler, which was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque. He is a soloist member of Hespèrion XX and La Capella Reial de Catalunya, both directed by Jordi Savall.
