  Louise Belson studied theatre design at Wimbledon School of art. She graduated in 1976 and came to Glasgow to design for TAG. She was Associate Designer at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield from 1979 to 1984. Subsequently she has designed for numerous theatre companies including Interim Theatre Company, All Change Arts (community arts, Islington and Lambeth), Soho Poly (new plays, including work by Hanif Kureishi and Carol Phillips), Intercontinental Entertainments (Middle East and Far East touring), National Theatre of the Lebanon (Albert Hall), The Young Vic and Channel 4 (What a Way to Win a Revolution), Bristol Old Vic (Plaza Suite), RSC, and the Almeida Theatre. Since 1990 she has also worked with Rosemary Lee (choreographer) and Jane Wells (composer) on environmentally based outdoor dance pieces in Shropshire and Norfolk. She is currently working on a staging of a Celtic funeral rite and a new dance piece, Icarus.
